Just ran into this little baddie shortly ago while looking for edible mushrooms and wild fruits to forage. She is a type of wolf spider, known as a “rabid wolf spider” by the long stripes that run from the front of her head to the end of her body, as well as the cool hash marks on her abdomen. Male wolf spiders don’t get this large, and telling by the size of her abdomen and that the other spiders are laying their eggs, I would assume she’s soon to do the same!
