Meet the short‑eared dog 🐾 — one of the most mysterious canines on Earth. Also known as the “ghost dog of the Amazon,” this rare species was only scientifically described in 1969 and is still seldom seen today. Living deep within the Amazon rainforest, it’s perfectly adapted to a secretive life, with short ears, a slender build, and behaviors unlike most other wild dogs.
