The United Launch Alliance is launching its powerful Vulcan rocket on its first national security mission for the U.S. Space Force.

United Launch Alliance completed its first US national security mission with the newly developed Vulcan rocket, a key test of the vehicle’s ability to put satellites into high orbits above the Earth.

ULA's Vulcan is replacing the company's workhorse Atlas 5 rocket and the already-retired Delta 4 family of launchers.
