Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said in a July 8 statement that TSA expects the policy change "will drastically decrease passenger wait times at our TSA checkpoints, leading to a more pleasant and efficient passenger experience.

TSA will allow passengers to keep their shoes on when they go through the general security line at many major airports across the country.

TSA will no longer be waiting for the other shoe to drop as they end almost 20 years of shoe-removal protocols at airport security nationwide, including Aspen/Pitkin County Airport. Shoe removal was originally enforced
