Fans barely found time to settle into their seats as Brandon Montour blew by the puck drop and beat goalie Jakub Dobes with the fastest overtime goal in NHL history, capping a comeback win over the Montreal Canadiens.

Kraken defenseman Brandon Montour's game-winning goal four seconds into overtime tied the NHL record for fastest goal in history as Seattle rallied for 4-2 third period deficit in the third period for a 5-4 win over the Montreal Canadiens.

Seattle center Chandler Stephenson was credited with an assist on that goal after he directed the puck instantly to Montour following the face-off to start the overtime. Without anyone between him and Montreal goalie Jakub Dobes, the 30-year-old Montour took full advantage of the setup, firing a powerful shot that Dobes simply failed to stop.
