The AI firm is facing a legal battle with two of Hollywood's biggest giants. They describe what Midjourney is doing as plagiarism, by creating "innumerable" copies of their famous characters without permission.

Disney and Universal have filed a lawsuit against an AI company over use of their copyrighted characters to create facsimiles: 'Piracy is piracy.'

The companies said Midjourney’s "bootlegging business model" is an attack on "the hard-working creative community that brings the magic of movies to life."
