Sydney Sweeney’s political affiliation has been revealed amid backlash over her controversial American Eagle campaign. Multiple outlets reported over the weekend that the “Euphoria” star registered as a Republican voter in Florida just months before Donald Trump took on his second presidential term.

In several different ads, "The White Lotus" actress can be seen posing in a Canadian tuxedo, which consists of a denim jacket over denim jeans. However, the ads make it very clear that she is not wearing anything underneath the denim jacket.

For context, the tagline of the campaign is “Sydney Sweeney has great jeans,” and, as is explicitly pointed out, the whole thing is a play on Sydney’s “great genes.” Some people have taken issue with the glorification of Sydney’s genetics as a blonde-haired, blue-eyed, white woman, accusing AE of promoting eugenics and “ white supremacy .”
