Chris Zaldua is a writer, DJ, label co-founder, and nightlife organizer based in San Francisco. He currently writes a left-field music newsletter, Thoughts of a Certain Sound.

His early 2000s projects pioneered a hip-hop sound that paved the way for East Bay artists. He later was a fixture in the world of Bay Area experimental music.
