The $4 billion investment also includes expansion of the Fairfax Assembly Plant in Kansas City, Kansas, and Spring Hill Manufacturing in Spring Hill, Tennessee. GM says the investment will allow the automaker to produce more than 2 million vehicles annually in the U.S.

GM, one of the biggest employers in the Metroplex, is making changes to where some of most popular vehicles are manufactured.

OAKLAND COUNTY, Mich. – General Motors (GM) announced on Tuesday what vehicles its Orion Assembly plans to produce. Beginning in early 2027, GM will begin production of the Cadillac Escalade, as well as Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra light-duty pickups at Orion Assembly.
