U.S. President Donald Trump accused BLS Commissioner Erika McEntarfer of faking employment data to all-time highs before the U.S. presidential election.

President Donald Trump’s firing of the Bureau of Labor Statistics official in charge of compiling jobs data was sharply criticized Sunday, with one former commissioner saying the move undermined the agency’s credibility.

Erika McEntarfer, commissioner of the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), whom President Trump fired following a dismal jobs report, said it was the “honor of my life” to serve in the position. “It has been the honor of my life to serve as Commissioner of BLS alongside the many dedicated civil servants tasked with measuring
