Despite the loss, Kevin Durant and Devin Booker put up strong individual performances. Durant matched Edwards with 33 points and seven assists in 40 minutes, while Booker added 28 points and eight assists. Bradley Beal contributed 17 points and six assists, while Grayson Allen chipped in with 11 points and seven rebounds.
Minnesota came back from down as many as 12 points, as the Suns went ice cold in the second half until the final five minutes when they tried to make a late push. Phoenix had 15 turnovers on the night, including nine by Devin Booker, tying his most ever in a game (last had nine in Feb. 2019).
Minnesota coach Chris Finch was tossed midway through third quarter after a heated exchange with an official. Shortly after his ejection, the Timberwolves broke a 77-77 stalemate with a 23-9 run that spanned the end of the third quarter and than five minutes of the final period.
