The Seattle Kraken have made it clear that Joey Daccord is their starting goalie, but Ales Stezka is the clear choice as the backup.
Making his NHL debut at age 28, Kraken goaltender Ales Stezka held the Lightning to one goal until halfway through the third period Sunday but received little goal support in a 4-1 loss.
The Kraken have swapped backup netminders. They announced they’ve summoned rookie Niklas Kokko from AHL Coachella Valley, sending down Ales Stezka in a corresponding move after he made his NHL debut in yesterday’s loss to the Lightning.
The Seattle Kraken continue their road trip with a battle against the Tampa Bay Lightning and will do so with Ales Stezka in between the pipes.
