Fans of the Netflix smash hit "Stranger Things" will get a chance to say goodbye to Hawkins on the big screen. More than 500 movie theaters across the United States and Canada will show the series finale on New Year's Eve.

The Upside Down is coming to the big screen. The series finale of "Stranger Things" will be released in select movie theaters in conjunction with its debut on Netflix, the streamer announced on Oct. 23. The screenings will take place in over 350 theaters ...

"We're beyond excited that fans will have the chance to experience the final episode of 'Stranger Things' in theaters -- it's something we've dreamed about for years, and we're so grateful to Ted [Sarandos], Bela [Bajaria], and everyone at Netflix for making it happen," they said in a press release at the time.

Netflix is bringing the Stranger Things series finale to movie theaters. Time to nerd out with fellow fans! The two-hour and five-minute finale will screen in over 500 theaters across the U.S. and Canada starting Dec. 31 at 5:00 p.m. PT, timed exactly to when it drops on Netflix. Screenings continue through Jan. 1.
