The Tennessee Volunteers have been in the headlines due to their back-and-forth with now-former starting quarterback Nico Iamaleava, who is officially in the college football transfer portal. Iamaleava tried to negotiate for more money before electing to enter the portal in hopes of a bigger deal elsewhere.

These things take time and money. And it hasn’t been as long as it seems. But Tennessee needs a quarterback from the transfer portal.

Running back transfer Anthony Woods was a productive player at Idaho, rushing for totals of 2,027 yards and 19 touchdowns in 2022 and ’23. He transferred to Utah last offseason but was plagued by injury and didn’t carry the ball once for the Utes in ’24.
