In Week Two of the 2024 season, Chiefs starting halfback Isiah Pacheco went down with a fractured fibula. What seemed like a major blow to the team at the time then turned into a blessing in disguise.

Running back Kareem Hunt was working out at his high school, trying to stay in football shape, when Chiefs’ running back Isiah Pacheco broke his leg in Week 2. Hunt didn’t think much of the injury, but then his agent said Hunt should reach out to the Chiefs.

Hunt was listed on the Chiefs’ Wednesday injury report due to an issue with his quad. However, it was estimated that Hunt would have been a full participant in practice, had the team run drills on Wednesday, and he was removed from Kansas City’s injury reports for the rest of the week.

Five years after Kareem Hunt said “it hurts my soul” not to be part of a Super Bowl-bound Chiefs team, he’s finally getting his chance.
