Road closures at some Norfolk railroad crossings are expected to take place beginning Tuesday.

They say Norfolk Southern is replacing the crossings. GDOT encourages motorists to use West Adams Street, which goes over the railroad. They also encourage drivers to utilize Matthews Road as well.

The project involves the replacement of the existing at-grade railroad crossing on Freeman Avenue with an overpass bridge and associated roadway realignments and improvements.
