Stranger Things, Season 5 and Episode 1
Digest more
In Season 5, Episode 2, Robin also asks Will if he did a mandala in Mrs. Harris's class in fifth grade, meaning they've all had her as a teacher. There has to be a reason later on in the season where this comes in handy, especially because Holly agrees that Mr. Whatsit, aka Vecna, can't do it.
The opening of Stranger Things 5 sheds light on a very important moment in the show’s history: when Will was trapped in the Upside Down. Fortunately for fans, Netflix released the first five minutes of the premiere a couple of weeks back, which you can watch below. We recapped and reviewed episode 1, “The Crawl,” live right here.
In Stranger Things Season 5, Holly Wheeler, Mike and Nancy’s little sister, is introduced. She talks to a mysterious figure called Mr. Whatsit. No one else can see him. Holly thinks he protects her from monsters. Her family and teachers think she is imagining it. Mike comforts her and gives her a D&D figure, and this helps her feel brave.
To get a critical hit to win in Dungeons & Dragons, you need to roll a 20. The unexpected return of Eight means we have a combined score of 19 (Eleven plus Eight, Jane plus Kali). But Will appears to have the same kind of powers as Vecna, which would mean he scores as another One – a perfect score to get a critical hit and beat Vecna.
