MLFootball posted a video of Payton meeting with Thompson on the field before kickoff. “BRONCOS HC SEAN PAYTON WAS CAUGHT KISSING REPORTER CHARISSA THOMPSON ON THE FIELD BEFORE THE GAME. 💀💀💀,” the account captioned the clip. Footage shows Payton, in a throwback Broncos hoodie, embracing Thompson before kissing her on the cheek.

Sean Payton's first game back as the Denver Broncos' play-caller didn't result in an offensive resurgence. In fact, one could argue that the passing offense looked even worse in Week 5, and the Broncos' inability to convert on third down was shocking (1-of-12).

Sean Payton's return to play calling did not exactly fix the Broncos' offense, but that's just part of the picture.

The Denver Broncos are on a 3-2 record as they enter Week 6 of the 2026 season. Their last win against the winless Los Angeles Chargers was pretty ugly (23-17), as the offense converted just 1 of 12 third-down attempts and struggled to move the ball consistently.
