Several communities across the Twin Cities are under a snow emergency on Sunday following a Thanksgiving weekend storm that dumped several inches on parts of Minnesota.

The cleanup from Saturday’s snow has prompted cities around the metro to declare snow emergencies. Minneapolis declared a snow emergency on Sunday as crews worked to clear more than 1,000 miles of city streets after a long stretch of steady snowfall coated much of the metro.

The city is finally coming into compliance with Mississippi River environmental mandates, and it’s an opportunity for progress in St. Paul.

Residents in Minneapolis will have until 9 p.m. to make sure their vehicles comply with snow emergency restrictions as crews work to clean up Saturday's snow.
