Hundreds filled the grounds of Fort Custer National Cemetery near Augusta Sunday afternoon to pay respects to the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice.

The Battle Creek-area U.S. Army soldier who was killed in Lithuania in March will be buried at Fort Custer National Cemetery on Friday, and the public is invited to line the procession route.

The procession will conclude at Fort Custer National Cemetery, where military honors will be presented.

There are two in Michigan — Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly and Fort Custer National Cemetery in Augusta. • Celebrate veterans.
