Anthony Richardson eye injury update: Why Colts QB's pregame exercise is to blame for Week 6 inactive status
The 23-year-old suffered an eye injury during pregame warmups, going down during a band exercise. The injury made Riley Leonard the Colts' No. 2 quarterback behind Jones for Sunday's contest. After the game, the Colts revealed Richardson suffered an orbital bone fracture and spent the game in the hospital. His timeline to return isn't clear.
The Colts also put wide receiver Adonai Mitchell on the inactive list. Mitchell, who was not on the injury report, dropped the ball before scoring a touchdown two weeks ago and played sparingly in Week 5, so it appears he is in the dog house in Indianapolis.
