Raveling coached as an assistant at Maryland before landing his first head coach position at Washington State for nearly a decade in the early 70s. He also coached at Iowa and finally USC, where he earned NABC Coach of he Year honors in 1992 while coaching the Trojans.

George Raveling, a former Villanova basketball player and Hall of Fame coach, died on Monday, Sept. 1. He was 88 years old. During his long career after graduating from Villanova in 1960, Raveling coached various college basketball teams and became Nike‘s global basketball sports marketing director.
