The AP Top 25 Poll released its preseason men’s basketball rankings Monday morning, and the Alabama Crimson Tide, ahead of Year 7 with head coach Nate Oats, checked in at No. 15. It marks the fifth year in a row that Alabama basketball has been ranked before the season.
In what is becoming a growing trend under head coach Nate Oats, the Crimson Tide’s non-conference schedule is one of the toughest in the nation, with Alabama seeing five teams ranked in the top 25 preseason poll. Alabama will face preseason No. 1 Purdue, as well as St. John’s, Illinois, Gonzaga, and Arizona.
