Two former Ocean City police officers were killed in separate shootings over the weekend, one in Virginia and another in Pennsylvania, the Ocean City Police Department said Sunday.

Virginia Beach Police Chief Paul Neudigate said at a news conference on Saturday that officers Cameron Girvin and Christopher Reece were killed after stopping a vehicle for expired plates.

Officer Christopher Reese, 30, worked for the Virginia Beach Police Department for about three years when he and a second officer, Cameron Girvin, 25, were killed Friday night during a confrontation during the traffic stop, authorities said.
