With the No. 11 pick in the 2025 NFL draft, the San Francisco 49ers selected edge-rusher Mykel Williams out of Georgia. Williams will join head coach Kyle Shanahan and a star-studded roster that includes quarterback Brock Purdy and defensive end Nick Bosa.

San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan was already impressed with Georgia defensive end Mykel Williams long before learning the standout defender battled through an ankle injury last season.

The big DE provides a real boost on the defensive line, giving the 49ers a much-needed mismatch on the edge as he and Bosa build a true tandem on outside. While Bosa will still need some coverage at defensive tackle, Willliams gives them a blue chip caliber prospect at edge.
