Vancouver's Filipino community is mourning after a man rammed his black Audi SUV into the crowd at a Filipino heritage festival, killing 11 people and injuring dozens.

A 30-year-old Vancouver man was arrested at the scene and the department’s Major Crime Section is overseeing the investigation, police said.

The festival honors the Filipino chieftain who defeated Spanish forces led by Ferdinand Magellan in the Battle of Mactan in 1521 and became a national hero.
