Two emergency room workers were injured during a stabbing incident inside an Illinois hospital, officials say. The stabbing happened Monday, Feb. 17, at Provident Hospital in Chicago, leading to the arrest of the unnamed suspect, according to the Chicago Police Department.

A doctor was stabbed in the chest and another hospital employee was also injured in an attack by a patient Monday at Provident Hospital, according to reports. The incident occurred around 1 p.m. in the 500 block of East 51st Street in Chicago,

Police said the staffer who went to the hospital was a 56-year-old man, and the attacker stabbed him in the chest with a sharp object.
