The New York Rangers GM Chris Drury has been shaking things up recently, and now it looks like he will part with another franchise cornerstone this summer.

Though the 2026 draft is seen as deeper than this year’s edition, if the Rangers do pick, there will be plenty of good options at No. 12.

Poor defensive play has continuously come back to cost the New York Rangers over the past few years. The area must be addressed for the team to move forward.

One name to keep an eye on is Vladislav Gavrikov. The 6-foot-3, 220-pound defenseman made a name for himself this season with the Los Angeles Kings and is set to become an unrestricted free agent in three weeks.
