The Boston Celtics have traded Georges Niang and two future second-round picks to the Utah Jazz for rookie RJ Luis Jr., it was announced Tuesday. Niang's more than $8 million salary will go into Utah's trade exception from the John Collins deal.

Boston, which will be without star Jayson Tatum for most of the year after he suffered a torn Achilles, is clearly looking to save money this season. After trading Niang and signing Boucher, the Celtics are now $6.9 million below the second apron and $5 million over the first apron.

The Boston Celtics have reportedly signed veteran big man Chris Boucher to a one-year contract this offseason.
