Michael Paul Brown, the suspect accused by police of opening fire inside a Montana bar and killing four people has been taken into custody, PEOPLE can confirm. According to sources with knowledge of the situation, Brown was taken into custody behind The Ranch Bar just west of Anaconda on Highway 1.

State and local officials and law enforcement announced Friday they had captured a “technically” armed man near Anaconda alleged to have killed four people in an Aug. 1 shooting in that town, and he was in custody on Friday.

Michael Brown was found Friday after a manhunt that involved hundreds of officers, according to reports and officials familiar with the situation.
