Harvard University expanded its lawsuit Tuesday against the Trump administration for freezing billions of dollars in federal funds, ratcheting up the high-stakes legal battle between the wealthiest US university and the White House.

Harvard asked on Tuesday to name two more federal agencies in its lawsuit against the Trump administration and encompass the administration’s expanding campaign against Harvard, which now targets more than $2.

The Trump administration said it would cut $450 million in funding to Harvard University on Tuesday. Hours later the institution amended its lawsuit against them.
