Went on a 3° snow covered day, because why not. We weren’t the only crazies to go either. We also did a little Geo Caching at the site. Something fun to see with the family.Full review by Adrianne R

It’s great that the property owner allows visitors. And they provide a comfortable space, parking, picnic table, walking trail to crash site. We stopped on the last Monday of 2024. It was cold and ra…Full review by greeneyes630

Hello!! Thanks for building the memorial. My band (Time and a Half) is playing at the casino 20 minutes north of the site on February 3rd. We will be making our first ever trip to the crash site on that day and I am looking forward to it!! Somehow being on stage February 3rd, 2017, the 48th anniversary of his passing, 20 minutes drive from the crash site is a bit haunting but it also feels like a strong honor. Buddy Holly's impact on rock n roll is easy to trace and for his life work, I am truly gracious. I am going to perform my best version of "Oh Boy" as the best way I can think of the honor my fallen hero.

You should also visit the Surf Ballroom - the site of their last show. It's close to the crash site.
It is a gravel road with no markers; from the interstate to the site. You park on the side of the road and walk down the field fence line to find the spot.
